I chose this hotel for the location - and yes, it was easy to get to on the minibus from the airport after a slightly windy route, it stops outside the hotel. Yes, it's less than a 10 minute walk to the train station. And yes, it's a short walk into the city centre there's even handy Green Hills supermarket across the road beside the Atrium centre. However there is very little else to recommend it! The entrance looks more like a low market casino than a hotel, and if you are a single male in the reception area in the evening - you may need to decline a local lady she wasn't upset by my refusal!
I never found out if my bedroom was "refurbished" - if it was, I would hate to see the old style ones! Whilst the bed was big and comfortable, the bedding was odd - instead of a standard upper sheet, there was a sort of sheetbag - which was ok for one person, but would have been a real struggle for two to share! I plugged in the fridge - this just added to the noise from my neighbours! The wifi in the room was one of the slowest that I've ever experienced it was fine in reception. There were no english TV channels.

The shower didn't drain properly - I really don't enjoy standing in water to wash. If they forget to replace the shower gel, reception will get it delivered to your room. Breakfast was a real step back in time - maybe I was unlucky, but there quite a few empty dishes when I arrived.
At least you won't find yourself over eating! Despite the useful location - I will not be returning! Arriving in Chisinau after 19hrs of travelling, the Cosmos hotel was just arround the corner from the main train station. Unexpectedly, the staff were fluent English speaking and could not have been more helpful.
The rooms were clean and comfortable with W-Fi. The bathroom was spotless and the shower powerful. My room had a fantastic view across town. There was no restaurant available but the staff recommended "Jacks" around the corner where we had the most amazing meal for buttons. The breakfast in the hotel was basic but tasty and more than enough to get us on our travels again. I would recommend this hotel - even the basic gift shop was a joy to experience the lady spoke no English and as I wanted a map of Moldova as a memento decided to write all over it to show places I ought to go around town My room had a fantsatic view across town.
