The small but splendid German city of Leipzig, located km south-west of Berlin, is in the mood to celebrate. This year marks the 1,th anniversary of its founding, or at least its first documented reference. Festivities will culminate in the cutting of a cake with 1, candles in December, but summer is when Leipzig really shines, with warm days and leafy beer gardens to enjoy.
